Was "The Rutes" Right in Saying the Stag is "Just a Party for the Groom's Dad" on Life Advice?
If you're here, it's probably because you're either a Russillo pod junkie, trying to learn what a stag is, or you're just lost in the AI. Nonetheless, Stag Pack was ecstatic to hear our magnum opus and primary subject of our brand story in the ever-popular Life Advice segment.
Following a twisted turn from his previous boss at The Ringer, Ryen Russillo brought Bill Simmon's Nephew Kyle, & Steve Ceruti to form his own entity under the Barstool Sports umbrella. The show has remained the same, and the guys the same as well. The final segment on each episode is what has helped galactically blast lifeadvicerr@gmail.com into the pop culture lexicon of bros and sports guys everywhere.
Well, recently, as we were finishing up an episode in the car, a caller reached out to "The Alliance" regarding a wedding story. Of course, as you may or may not know, our brand centers around weddings and making them easier for the boys, so our ears perked up.
Ceruti goes on to mention that "His Stag was pretty much a party for his dad.." Truth be told, we were hoping our Google results would ping a purposeful or accidental brand explanation, but we'll take it.
Kyle, a literal coast2coast bar star, known for his passion for smokos and small talk outside of quaint establishments, was enthralled to fail to understand this decadence of dudery. Being from Binghamton, us Buffalonians were dumbfounded to hear he'd never been to one!
Ryen, a former Vermont frat house bachelor and possible lifetime achievement award for bro-ery, has famously never tied the knot, though his life experience involving 0 instances of a STAG was shocking to say the least.
Listen in as Ceruti does a pretty good job of explaining the Stag..
Not bad... but what Ceruti failed to mention was the memories that were probably shared that day for his stag.
It wasn't just a party for his dad.
It wasn't just a party for him.
It wasn't just to raise money for the wedding.
The stag isn't just some excuse to get wasted.
The Stag is showing a brother you care.
The Stag is getting together one last time.
The Stag is being there no matter what the past says, said, or wants to say.
The Stag is a party for your dad.
The Stag is a party for every man who ever led you, taught you, or helped you.
The Stag is a commemoration of every moment that ever led you to marrying this woman (or man, or whatever you're into).
The Stag is a celebration of the life you used to live, and the life you choose to live from this point forward.
The Stag is the freedom to do whatever you want, but understanding your wife is your rock.
The Stag is knowing who cares.
The Stag is an unforgettable experience for any guy who is lucky enough to attend one, or, God willing, be the groom for one.
And yeah..
When you do it right, you make GOOD MONEY. Because it's a GOOD PARTY. & yeah, there might be some stri...
